Stroud Book Festival

We are thrilled to say we will be part of #StroudBookFestival – we have been working remotely with a fantastic creative team including composer Simon Turner and radio/voice artists Jude Emmet and Kate Abraham to produce a series of beautifully rich audio podcasts of the free form verse book Mary Ann Sate, Imbecile by award-winning writer Alice Jolly.

All events are FREE – so please join us at the launch on November 4 and on the following days to hear Mary Anne Sate, Imbecile – it is an extraordinary book, and we hope you will fall in love with it just as we have done….https://stroudbookfestival.org.uk/…/festival-launch…/

Other Work

Red Dog have worked with many organisations to bring the creative arts into people’s lives. We welcome the opportunity to work with groups from all areas and all our artists are experienced workshop leaders and between them have many years of teaching and facilitating experience.

We have run workshops with, among others, homeless and disadvantaged young people supported by Stonham and OPENhouse charities, older people supported by Age Concern, young carers supported by Glos Young Carers, as well as many educational groups, from primary schools to further education colleges. One of the key factors in the successful delivery of our workshops is our ability to remain open and flexible to the changing needs of our partner organisations in order to adapt and deliver workshops successfully. This is possible because we are a small organisation, working closely with our partner organisations and all the professionals who work with us.

We tailor every workshop to suit the particular group, focusing on textiles and the creation of costumes, music making leading to the creation of original songs, sound effects and music for our shows, storytelling, and confidence building roles. Workshops are tied in with the company’s current production, with all participants being offered the opportunity to see the production and work with the members of the creative team.

“We have worked with Red Dog for a number of years and I am always more than happy to endorse the inspirational work they do with the young people we work with.”
Claire Mould, CEO of OPENhouse, a charity providing housing, complex mental health support and education for homeless young people and vulnerable individuals.
