Stroud Book Festival

We are thrilled to say we will be part of #StroudBookFestival – we have been working remotely with a fantastic creative team including composer Simon Turner and radio/voice artists Jude Emmet and Kate Abraham to produce a series of beautifully rich audio podcasts of the free form verse book Mary Ann Sate, Imbecile by award-winning writer Alice Jolly.

All events are FREE – so please join us at the launch on November 4 and on the following days to hear Mary Anne Sate, Imbecile – it is an extraordinary book, and we hope you will fall in love with it just as we have done….https://stroudbookfestival.org.uk/…/festival-launch…/

LIVE THEATRE COMING TO GARDEN NEAR YOU!

If you can’t go to the theatre, the theatre can come to you ..

Curious Move and Red Dog are performing a pop up performance in residential gardens around Gloucestershire and further afield throughout August and into September. Please get in touch at if interested in booking us into your garden and inviting a small but perfectly formed audience .

About

Formed in 2005, Red Dog quickly established a reputation for producing original, vivid, and highly imaginative text driven stories that are deeply engaging emotionally and intellectually. We are an ensemble company with a core group of associate artists, including textile and video artists, under the creative direction of Kate Abraham, the company’s founder.

The Red Dog style is modern and bold with the majority of our chosen works being award-winning plays by contemporary playwrights. We produce our shows in the round giving our audiences an up close and personal experience. This allows us to focus on the richness of the text, with original costume design playing a fundamental part. By working collaboratively and imaginatively with textile designers we seek to create striking visual images that blur the lines between visual art and theatre. We love text-driven theatre and our productions explore the human condition in a variety of contexts with themes that resonate powerfully with today’s audiences.

The company is based in Stroud, Oxford, and Cumbria, with strong connections with The Everyman Theatre Cheltenham

Testimonials

“rich and dense, but never less than compelling….proper grown up theatre”
Lyn Gardner, The Guardian

Our theatre shows for younger audiences are original pieces written and devised by the company, that celebrate story telling in a magical and intimate way, using live music, in-the-round performance and a gently interactive style.

“Your play was fantastic…when the bear came close to me I felt like I was in the story”
